Project Settings
Change your project’s name, description, alias, or access level — or delete it when it’s no longer needed.
Every project has a settings dialog where you edit metadata, control access, and manage collaborators.
Open project settings
- Open your project.
- In the project overview header, select the Project settings icon (gear). The Project Settings dialog opens.
Basic Information
Edit Name or Description and select Save Changes. Changes appear across the workspace and on public URLs immediately.
To change the Alias, edit the field and select Save Changes. Alias rules are covered in Projects. The old alias keeps working as a redirect, so existing links and URLs survive the rename — see Renaming & Redirects for how to track down and update them at your own pace.
Access Settings
In Access Settings, set the Default Access Level — the access level applied by default to published documents in this project (Private, Unlisted, or Public). Project Access Control covers the three levels, public URLs, and plan limits.
Collaborators
Grant workspace Members elevated access on just this project without changing their workspace role. The Collaborators section lists everyone with project-specific access and their role (Write, Write and Delete, or Admin). Select Add Collaborator to grant access, change roles, or remove them.
Note: The Member who creates a project is automatically added as an Admin collaborator.
Project Collaborators covers role permissions and the full workflow. Teams can hold a project role too — see Teams.
Documents deleted via CLI
If the project syncs from a repository, the Documents deleted via CLI setting decides what happens when a file disappears from the repo: Delete permanently (the default) or Move to archive. With the archive option, removing a file retires the page instead of breaking its links — see Archiving Documents.
Delete project
Deleting a project is permanent. All documents, assets, and settings disappear and cannot be restored.
- Open project settings.
- Expand Danger Zone.
- Select Delete Project.
- In the confirmation dialog, type the project name to confirm.
- Select Delete Project.
