Audit Log
The audit log records every action in your workspace — document edits, team changes, CLI operations, and more.
- Click Settings in the sidebar
- Select Audit Log
Note: Only workspace admins can view the audit log.
Logged events
The audit log captures events across your entire workspace:
Document events — Created, Updated, Moved, Moved to another project, Deleted, Restored from trash, Reverted to an earlier version, Alias changed, Access changed, Archiving Documents, Restored from archive.
Custom field events — Field value set, Field value cleared, and, for the project’s field schema: Field created, Field updated, Field deleted, Fields reordered, Field layout changed.
Project events — Created, Updated, Deleted, Showcase order changed.
Workspace events — Created, Updated, Deleted.
Member events — Invite sent, Invite accepted, Invite revoked, Member added, Member removed, Workspace role changed.
Project access events — Collaborator added, removed, or role changed — and the same three for Teams grants: Team given project access, Team access removed, Team project role changed.
Comment events — Comment added, Reply added, Comment edited, Thread resolved, Thread reopened, Comment deleted.
CLI events — Push started and completed, Pull started and completed, Delete started and completed.
Integration events — AI provider configured or removed, CLI key created or deleted.
Glossary events — Term added, updated, deleted; Glossary imported and exported.
Webhook events — Created, Updated, Secret rotated, Revoked, Deleted.
Event details
Each event row shows the timestamp (with relative time), the actor name and type badge, the action performed, the target entity, and a severity level (Info, Warn, or Error).
Click the chevron on the right to expand an event and see the source (UI, CLI, API, or System) and changed fields (e.g., status, isLocked).
One Updated event covers a whole editing session rather than each save, so its count tells you how many autosaves it absorbed. Rows for such an edit carry a button that opens the Version History that session produced. The button is inactive while the session is still open — a version is written once the session closes.
Filters
Use the filters at the top of the audit log to narrow results:
Time Range — Last hour, 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or all time. Available ranges depend on your plan’s retention limit.
Actor Type — Filter by User (UI actions), CLI (CLI operations), or System (automated actions).
Action — Show only specific event types, like document updates or member changes.
The same log, one project at a time
A project has its own Activity tab, and it is this log filtered to that project — document changes, publishing, CLI pushes and pulls, integration events. The filters and the retention limit are the same; only the scope differs.
Reach for it when you are answering a question about one project and the workspace-wide log is mostly other people’s work.
History retention
Free plans retain a limited window of history. Pro plans retain a longer window. Enterprise plans keep the full history for years — only events older than three years are eventually cleaned up.
When you reach your limit, older events become inaccessible. Upgrade your plan to access full history. See Plans & Billing for details.
